- Former Ambassador of Chile to the United Arab Emirates, GCC, Pakistan and Yemen.
- Former Dean of the UAE Diplomatic Corps.
- Born in Dubai on December 5th, 1976, he has accumulated over 28 years living in the GCC, with 25 years in the UAE and 3 years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Ambassador Tarud advised the Interior and Foreign Ministries of Chile for 13 years on several issues including Counter Terrorism, National Security, Defense, International Policy, Conflict Resolution, Illicit Trafficking and Human Rights matters as well as on International Trade, Economics and Investments.
- He currently advises UAE Government entities on Latin American Affairs and holds various honorary board and committee positions including for the American University in UAE and other academic and policy entities advising on matter of International Relations, International Politics and National Security.
- He also heads the Middle East’s first STO and Blockchain Financial Advisory firm.
- Has also had a significant role in the bilateral economic relations between the GCC and Chile. He headed 14 UAE investment and trade delegations to Chile between 2009 and 2018, as well as negotiating and securing the Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways flights to Santiago.
- He also spearheaded the visit to Chile of the UAE Prime Minister, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2014, the various visits of the Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan between 2009 and 2014, the visit of HE Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy in 2013 and various other high-level delegations. Represented Chile in various multilateral instances such as IRENA, ASPA, Regional OECD summits, World Economic Forum, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and various Security and Defense summits.
